A few Pictures of Spencer

I've gotten several requests for me to post pictures of Spencer. I just figured out to do that on the blog.   So, here are some pics...

Age 5

When Spencer was five-years old, one day I was crying and he came up to me and said, "Mom, you need to meditate." I said, "I do meditate." "No Mom, this is why I came here--to help you, and you need to meditate. This is why I'm here." I knew that what he meant was that I needed to go deeper, be more serious, and more disciplined. It was always like this with him when he was little...

He was a little guru to me--so wise and so beautiful.
His endless green eyes - so open and full of life.
His cute little cheeks and strong little body; he loved his body. He loved to test his body's limits. He was born in the year of Monkey in Chinese astrology, and little monkey he could be...

  4. I think about him all the time. He is one of those people whose importance in my life surpasses description or quantification. A true brother and soulmate to me.

  5. Dear Sharon,
Something led me to go onto your blog sites this morning ,something [blogging] I have never done before. Oh the "tears" how they flowed and are flowing! I have read them all. I guess this is just what I was needing. Thanks for sharing Spencer's photos and the stories, and poems etc. I remember seeing you in Long Beach after having your loss mentioned at the event. Annie M came up to me and told me it was you/Spence who were mentioned. As I approach the 15th annuiversary , August 20, 2012, of the loss of our Jacob.....the saddness is still there.....the tears still come.....missing him if still hurts.....AND the MEMORIES are GIFTS. I love what you said about saying their names, thinkng you can't say their name to others, can't talk their story is heartbreaking...........so JACOB, JACOB, JACOB, I love you and I miss you and thank you for all the memories. I love it when people mention his names (Jacob/Jake/Gator Boy'97/AT) and when they share his story from their life. Recently a college friend who later hiked the AT sent me his book that was finally published. It is "I HIKE" by Lawton Grinter. It can be checked out on www.lawtongrinter.com The book is dedicated to Jake and there is an entire chaper with Jake's story. It came the day before Mother's Day and I started reading it that evening. THe next day, I went to bed to take a nap but instead got into reading the book; then, I turned the page and that feeling hit my solar plexis, my heart raced as I read the chapter title 'Gator Boy'. I read it with anticipation, I smiled, and I cried & cried & cried......Richard opened the door and said, "It's about time to leave", we were going to have Mother's Day Celebration with our children Peter and Vanessa and their families at Pete's home. When he looked at me Richard saw the tears and asked me what was the matter. I could not talk but showed him the book. What a gift from Lawton and JAKE for Mother's Day. THank you for sharing Sharon, Love Betty Cram
